About Us

Parkwest is no longer an operating practice. It is now exclusively an online resource. But we are proud of our heritage. Meet the historical, Parkwest Comprehensive Team.

Our treatment programs are physician-monitored and designed to improve health through sustained weight loss based on reasonable long-term goals. A variety of treatment programs are available, and we work with each patient one-on-one to choose the best plan. Throughout our program our patients receive appropriate medical monitoring, nutrition and exercise education, and behavioral modification support.

Achieving long-term weight loss is a complex process of medical, nutritional, behavioral and psychological change. These changes require the development of new skills to help one replace less desirable habits with healthier ones. Fundamental behavior and dietary change, not just short-term food sacrifice, is required for lasting weight loss success.

The Center offers you both medically supervised and surgical weight loss programs. A New Life through Education, Nutritional counseling, Behavior Modification, Medication and Surgery are all available choices at Knoxville’s only Comprehensive Weight Loss Center.

Your Weight Loss Team

Our dedicated team of bariatric coordinators, office coordinators, exercise physiologist, registered dietician and office manager works with you and your surgeon to help you succeed with your weight loss program. Here’s how each team member assists you with your weight loss goals:

Bariatric Coordinators

Your bariatric coordinator is a highly trained registered nurse who works directly with you and the surgeon throughout the program to coordinate your assessment, planning and patient care. Our bariatric coordinators receive the latest specialized training to provide the best care possible. They help train hospital staff and are on call 24 hours a day for you during your hospital stay to answer your questions and ensure consistent, compassionate care. Their only focus is you, the patient.

Office Coordinators

Our specialized office coordinators work exclusively with weight loss patients to provide reliable advice and professional support. They assist you through the process of registering, screening, prior authorization, financial counseling and services scheduling.

Exercise Physiologist

Our exercise physiologist will oversee one of the most challenging and important aspects of the weight loss program — reintroducing exercise into your life. With a master’s degree in exercise physiology and many years of experience, our exercise physiologist formulates a highly individualized exercise program for each patient taking individual challenges into consideration. Continuous support, encouragement and exercise plan modification, when needed, help our committed patients succeed with their weight loss programs.

Registered Dietician

Our on-staff registered dietician offers a crucial key to the success of your weight loss program. Unlike a one-time consultation with a nutritionist, our registered dietician provides you with ongoing, individualized support and education for your dietary needs as you advance through the stages of weight loss.

Office Manager

Safe, healthy and successful weight loss is our team’s number-one goal at Parkwest Comprehensive Weight Loss Center. If you have an issue that was not resolved to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to contact our office manager. We want to exceed your expectations.
