Angels and Ambassadors Program

Angel Program

Bariatric Angels are former patients that want to help other patients as they embark on their journey to a New Life.  The Angel may talk to the patient considering weight loss surgery or facilitate assistance for any questions or needs the patient may have after discharge.  Sometimes patients may benefit greatly from contact and advice from someone who has been there.  Angel are great support for patients who do not have family or other support in the post operative period and may actually stay in the hospital with the patient.  Individuals who are identified in the office or while in-patient as having little or no support system will have the opportunity to sign up for the Angel Program.  Individuals who are interested in participating in the Angel Program.

Ambassador Program

The Ambassador program is an opportunity for former patients who have lost weight through surgery or medically supervised diet and who want to continue to be involved with the program and share their success.  Ambassadors visit and work with people outside of the hospital setting and are able to explain how the programs are organized and implemented.  They may be called upon to speak at weight loss surgery seminars, provide testimonials at support group meetings, or staff community education events.
